Evangeline Lilly claims she was intentionally injured by ‘misogynistic’ stunt coordinator on set of Lost
The Canadian actor claims she was punished for wanting to perform the stunt herself
“There were open wounds, pus-y and oozing,” she told an audience during a Fox panel about women in the stunt trade. “I looked like a mutant. My mom said, ‘You’ll never be able to wear an evening gown again.”
Deadline reports that the stunt in question saw Lilly having to roll off a thick tree branch and hang on for dear life. She was also harnessed to the branch eliminating any chance of falling. Upon requesting a light fabric used in stunts to prevent abrasions, she was told no because the viewers would “see it.”
Lilly claims she was then instructed to perform the stunt repeatedly without any protection over her arms, the bark ripping her skin with each take.
“I felt it was him saying, ‘I’m going to put you in your place for standing up to me,’” she added. “It was either cow to his power or hurt myself. I was in my 20s then. Now, I would probably back down.”
